Toronzo Cannon grew up on the southside of chicago, just a couple of blocks from the well-known Theresa's lounge, where Jr. Wells made a name for himself, and the likes of Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters also came to play. If proximity to that Blues institution wasn't enough to set Toronzo's feet down the well-traveled path of those famous blues musicians, Toronzo also has a family history in the blues with his uncle, Richard Cannon, who often played with Jr. Wells and Buddy Guy. Toronzo's other influences include the Kings of the Blues - and I do mean B.B., Freddie, Albert, and Jimmy King. He also can lean towards the great Jimi Hendrix. Toronzo has been touched by a diverse range of great performers, and It is now his turn to touch others with his own unique style.

Toronzo Cannon can play the Blues, and he is showing it. He has played with many Blues musicians around Chicago. He has shared the stage at venue such as House of Blues, Chicago Bluesfest, Buddy Guy's Legends with the likes of Bernard Allison, Otis Rush, and Buddy Guy. He has also played with local Blues acts, both established and up-and coming. He has perfected his own chops playing alongside the likes of Tommy McCracken,Wayne Brooks(son of Lonnie Brooks), and Joanna Conner. Toronzo Cannon is paying his dues with some of the great players in the blues scene.

Toronzo Cannon has formed his own band Toronzo Cannon and the Cannonball Express, and releases a 7 song EP (AIN'T NO STRANGER). Toronzo will give the audience what they are looking for, a good time. He ain't shy, he will come out into the crowd and show up close that he is the real thing. Toronzo will have you dancin, laughing, and singing, and if your lucky, maybe even part of the show.

So, if you have a chance and need a good time, come on out and witness Toronzo Cannon and the Cannonball Express.
